In a connector (1), an insulator (3) has a mount portion (3<e>). Signal and ground contacts (2) are held by the insulator, each having a terminal portion (2b) placed on the mount portion. A shell member (4,5) surrounds the insulator. The mount portion includes a groove portion (3p) corresponding to the terminal portion of the ground contact.
