A closed breech rocket gun has a rotatable feed shaft thereon for intermittently feeding a round of ammunition into the firing chamber as the shaft is rotated by means of a plunger rod movable outwardly of the gun receiver as the bolt retracts. A slidable cam plate interconnected with a gas cylinder and piston unit on the gun barrel retracts after the firing of each round and unlatches a bolt lock to permit the bolt to recoil, after which the bolt is again locked in place when the next round is fed into the firing chamber.
