<p>PURPOSE:To obtain both advantages of liquid and agar cultivation, by arranging a sponge capable of containing water in multi-stage in a gas phase in a cultivation vessel, putting a plant callus on the sponge and feeding a liquid culture medium to the callus while dropping the medium from the upper part of the callus. CONSTITUTION:A heat sterilization and temperature controlling means and circulation pump 12 are arranged in a cultivation vessel 10 and a sponge 16 is installed in multi-stage in the vessel 10. Whenever the sponge of each stage is attached, a plant callus 18 is put on the sponge and a liquid culture medium 20 is dropped from the nozzle of a feed pipe 19 arranged at the upper part of the sponge in the highest stage. The culture medium 20 is flowed from the gap of the sponge to the lower stage and further dropping position of the liquid culture medium can be also located by providing plural projections 25 on the lower face of the sponge 16. The cultivation having both advantages of liquid and agar cultivations can be carried out using above-mentioned culturing apparatus.</p> |
