1304580 Treating I.C. engine charge SNAM PROGETTI SpA 3 August 1970 [4 August 1969] 37439/70 Heading F1B A device to be mounted between a carburetter and an I.C. engine comprises a conduit A, B, C having a portion A in which the unvaporised heaviest fractions of the mixture entering the device are collected for flow to a container E. The container E is connected to the conduit portion C downstream of the portion A for reintroduction of collected fuel fractions and to a container N, with an overflow R, which is movable vertically to vary the hydrostatic pressure of the fuel re-introduced through the nozzle T. By varying the position of the container N the composition of the fuel in the mixture supplied to the engine can be adjusted. In graphs Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), relationships between the position of the container N and the octane number of the fuel supplied to the engine are given. |
