CONSTITUTION: A substance having catalysis and microwave absorptivity or a substance wherein the catalytic substance coexists with the microwave absorptive substance is heated by the irradiation with a microwave, and the gas contg. the contaminant is brought into contact with the substance to rapidly and conveniently decompose and remove the contaminant. The working catalystic substance is maintained at a fixed temp. by the pulse interval and duration to prevent the deterioration of performance due to heating than necessary.
