<p>A column-driver integrated circuit (10) for driving the columns of LCD displays uses paired digital-to-analog converters (28/30) to provide analog signals in an upper voltage range and in a lower voltage range. During a first drive cycle the analog signal generated by the first D/A converter (28) is selected onto the first column (14) of the display, and the analog signal generated by the second D/A converter (30) is selected onto the second column (16) of the display. During a second subsquent drive cycle the first D/A converter (28) is selected onto the second column (16) of the display, and the analog signal generated by the second D/A converter (30) is selected onto the first column (14) of the display.</p> |
