PURPOSE: A method for inputting a text of a terminal is provided to enable a user to search a necessary text in a stored database and input the text without inputting all consonants and vowels. CONSTITUTION: A user inputs and displays a consonant of a last name. It is judged whether a press of a side key exists for calling a database. If a side key press exists, characters including the inputted consonant are displayed in order of a frequency number. If a side key press does not exist, a vowel of the last name is inputted. The user judges whether the displayed character is a wanted character, and inputs a wanted character using a function key. It is judged whether a key for moving to a position for inputting the first consonant of a first name is inputted. If the key is inputted, the last name is displayed by the inputted consonant and vowel. If the key is not inputted, a consonant is inputted as a consonant placed under a vowel for displaying the last name. Continuously, the first name is inputted as the above method.
