PURPOSE:To improve the stability to heat and light of an organic pigment film to enhance the long-term shelf stability and the repeated regeneration characteristics, by a method wherein one of specific azulenium salt compounds and at least one from among an aminium salt compound and a diiminium salt compound are contained in a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:In an optical recording medium according to the invention, one of specific azulenium salt compounds at least shown by formulas I, II, and III and at least one from among an aminium salt compound and a diiminium salt compound are contained in a recording layer. By containing the azulenium salt compound and either/both the aminium salt compound or/and the diiminium salt compound in the recording layer, the optical recording medium can have high sensitivity and C/N ratio, record-regeneration characteristics having a clear threshold to a laser power, high stability to heat and light, superior shelf stability, and minimum deterioration in regeneration. |
