PURPOSE:To obtain the subject products having blood flow promoting action, cardiotonic action, vasodilating action, action to control gastric and intestinal functions, antiobestic action, hypolipemic action, etc., by using extract of hawthorn leaves as an active component. CONSTITUTION:The objective drink contains extract of hawthorn leaves as an active component. The amount of the hawthorn leaf extract is preferably 0.1-50% in terms of dried extract in the case of a health food and is preferably 0.01-15% in terms of dried extract in the case of a health drink. The hawthorn leaf extract can be produced e.g. by adding water to hawthorn leaves, heating at 80-90 deg.C, adding diatomaceous earth to the obtained extraction liquid, subjecting the mixture to suction filtration with a nutsche having precoated diatomaceous earth layer and concentrating and drying the filtrate. |
