A ballast water treating apparatus that can satisfy ballast water standards stipulated by IMO credibly at low cost. There is provided a ballast water treating apparatus comprising filtering unit (4) for filtering seawater to thereby capture aquatic organisms; fungicide supply unit (5) for supplying a fungicide to the filtered seawater; and venturi tube (7) for introducing the seawater loaded with the fungicide and generating cavitation in the seawater to thereby not only diffuse the fungicide but also injure or kill the aquatic organisms of the seawater.
