The dumper consists of sidewalls, a top and a bottom which consists of a transporter. The transporter is formed by sectioned plates (7) whihc run across the width of the transporter. The ends of the plates are mounted between chains which run over chainwheels The sectioned plates have rear edges (8) which lie on top of the next plate to prevent the goods being transported passing between the plates. The plates are mounted between the chains in such a way that their edges, which lie on top of the next plate, lie in line with the centrelines (13) of the hingepins (14) of the chainlinks. This ensures that the rear edges of the plates do not rub over the next plate.
