<p>PURPOSE: To provide a high pressure discharge lamp excellent in the heat resistance with which it is possible to make connections of an outer tube, leads, and lamp base without using solders. CONSTITUTION: A lamp base 2 is screwed onto one end of an outer tube 1, and a recess 3 is furnished at one end of the outer tube 1. One of the leads 4a of a light emitting tube led out from the outer tube 1 is led to outside the base 2 from the gap between the end of outer tube 1 and the base 2, for example from the recess 3. The lead 4a is pinched between the end of outer tube 1 and the base 2 by a metal piece 5 having a curving portion 5a and flat portion 5b inserted in the gap between the end of outer tube 1 and the base 2 and is connected to the base 2. The other lead 4b led out from the outer tube 1 is connected by silver braze 6 to the tip of the base 2.</p> |
