PURPOSE:To obtain the subject formed compact, excellent in strength and toughness and containing crystal grains composed of plural crystal grains, containing Si3N4 and/or SiC and having specific shapes by respectively sintering and heat- treating grains containing the aforementioned Si3N4 and/or SiC. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic compact containing crystal grains, containing Si3N4 and/or SiC, composed of the first crystal grains having a shape of 0.1-0.6mum minor axis, 0.5-3mum major axis and 5-10 aspect ratio, the second crystal grains having a shape of 0.3-0.8mum minor axis, 4.0-7.0mum major axis and 5-20 aspect ratio and the third crystal grains having a shape of 0.8-4mum minor axis, 8-20mum major axis and 2-20 aspect ratio and prepared by respectively sintering and heat-treating grains containing the above-mentioned Si3.4 and/or SiC. |
