<p>A moving column of material is retained by perforated walls and a hopper-shaped wall arrangement; part of the gases passes through the upper part of the chamber, another part through the lower portion of the chamber and the filter material is continuously recycled via a vibrating trough, collector trough and an elevator, the latter returning it to the top of the column; the impurities extracted from the filter, bed material by the vibrating trough are collected in a lower hopper and discharged by a screw conveyor. Preferred bed materials are metal, plastics and ceramics.</p> |
