A labyrinth seal (10) for a bearing housing assembly comprises first (11) and second (12) components that are relatively angularly movable with respect to each other. The components define a labyrinthine path from one side of the seal (10) to the other. Between the components (11, 12) additional sealing means (19) is provided that applies a sealing force axially or radially of the seal so as to seal the labyrinth seal against the ingress of liquid contaminants. The additional sealing means is preferably a frusto-conical lip seal (19) that has an inwardly directed lip (21) and is provided at the radially inner edge region of the labyrinth seal. |
