PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a waste ink tank by disposing the radiator for a head drive circuit power amplifier in the vicinity of a waste ink tank thereby evaporating the volatile components therein. SOLUTION: When an ink jet head moves to arrive at the position of a print sheet, a head drive circuit operates to perform printing on the print sheet which is moved upon finishing the print operation. A power amplifier 3 built in the head drive circuit generated heat as the head is driven in the print operation. A radiator 2 is disposed, relative to a waste ink tank 1, at such a position as thermal resistance is low and mounted on a collector section by projecting the power amplifier 3 from a circuit board 4 in the horizontal direction. The radiator 2 is set such that the upper surface thereof abuts directly on the bottom face of an absorbing material, e.g. a sponge, for holding ink in the waste ink tank 1. Since the waste ink touches the radiator 2 directly, it is evaporated forcibly. |
