<p>PURPOSE:To surely block the intrusion of air into the aerating and agitating device also used in anaerobic operation, to eliminate the wear of the air blocking part and to prolong the service life of the device. CONSTITUTION:The external air is sucked through a hollow shaft provided with a screw 3 at its tip by the negative pressure generated in the water at the tip of the screw when the screw is rotated, and the sucked air is diffused into the water which is aerated. Air is blocked during anaerobic operation, and the sewage is agitated only by the rotation of the screw. A plug 5 to close the shaft-end opening is arranged in opposition to the end of the hollow shaft 2 to be rotated by a motor 1 and made rotatable concentrically with the hollow shaft. A detaching and attaching mechanism 6 is furnished to the plug 5, and the plug is moved back or forth to close the hollow shaft or to adjust its opening degree.</p> |
