PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make communication with an external electronic device or a charger. SOLUTION: A battery pack BP is composed of terminals T1, T2, T3, a detecting circuit 1, a signal generating circuit 2, a temperature/voltage/current detecting circuit 3, a switch circuit SW and a secondary battery BT. Moreover, the terminals T1, T2 are connected with an external signal generating unit 4, while the terminals T2, T3 are connected with an external signal generating unit 5. The detecting circuit 1 detects connection with external signal generating unit 4 or 5. Depending on the result of detection, the switch circuit SW is controlled to be ON and OFF. In the temperature/voltage/current detecting circuit 3, temperature of the battery pack BP and a terminal voltage and current of the secondary battery BT are detected. The ON/OFF conditions of the switch circuit SW is controlled based on the detected temperature, voltage and current. Moreover, a signal is then supplied to the signal generating circuit 2 based on the detected temperature, voltage and current. The signal generating circuit 2 supplies a signal to an electronic apparatus connected via the terminal T2 based on the supplied signal.
