PURPOSE:To simply and suitably test the subject antifungal performance under the growth condition of test fungi by subjecting a silicone sealant test piece containing an antifungal agent to the deterioration treatment of the antifungal agent, sterilizing the test piece, adding a suspension containing a mixture of test fungous spores, and subsequently culturing the spores. CONSTITUTION:A silicone sealant is mixed with an antifungal agent such as 'Vinyzene(R)' antifungal agent, coated on peeling paper and subsequently cured. The cured sealant layer is punched out into a circle and peeled from the peeling paper to form a test piece. The test piece is irradiated with light for 500hrs by the use of a sunshine weather meter to deteriorate the antifungal agent. The test piece is sterilized, placed on a culture medium, sprayed with a suspension containing a mixture of the spores of the genus Cldosporium, Penicillium, Paecilomyces and Gliocladium fungi, and subsequently cultured to judge the antifungal performance of the silicone sealant on the basis of the growth state of the tested fungi. |
