CONSTITUTION:A 2-way differentiating circuit 8 detects the start of transmission, a storage circuit 9 stores transmission start information, a pulse interval measuring circuit 10 detects the end of transmission and a storage circuit 11 stores the transmission end information. Moreover, a pulse interval measuring circuit 20 detects the end of reception, a storage circuit 19 stores the reception start information, a pulse interval measuring circuit 20 detects the end of reception and a storage circuit 21 stores the reception end information. When the content of the optical signal received with the preceding transmission is disregarded and the transmission is inhibited in the case of the preceding reception. In the case of the preceding transmission, after the end of transmission is detected and the end of reception is detected, the transmission state is released. Thus, mis-reception of the optical signal sent from itself is prevented, the delay time up to the release of the transmission is reduced and the optical communication efficiency is improved.
