The heater has a housing (5) containing a thermal core (2) with vertical air passages (3, 3'). The air leaves through a plenum chamber (4) below the core and enters a vertical shaft (7) between the housing (5) and an outer case (6). A withdrawable unit (14) below the heater contains a fresh air fan (9), an inlet damper (12) and an opening (11) to atmosphere. Air drawn from outside is discharged vertically up the shaft (7) between the inner and outer casings where it mixes with the hot air from the core. The mixed air leaves through an opening (8) at the top in which is fixed a thermostat (8') which regulates the fresh air inlet damper. The fan handles air at low temperature and the two streams mix well before entering the room. |
