<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to input data easily from a terminal in each section of medical examination operations or the like in a hospital regardless of specialty of the user, to manage data in an integrated fashion as an individual database for each patient, and to enable the database to be used in the entire hospital. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic medical chart system is comprised of a system server 1, a receipt computer server 2 and an electronic medical chart server 3. A database managed for each patient is accumulated and stored in the system server 1. A receptionist terminal 5, laboratory terminals 6 and medical examination terminals 7 are connected to the system server 1. The receptionist terminal 5 is connected to the receipt computer server 2 and medical examination terminals 7 are connected to the electronic medical chart server 3. When this system is started up from a terminal, the system displays an initial screen 11.
