A spring element comprises metallic layers (2a-f) essentially transversal to the direction of compression between which resilient layers (3a-f) of elastic material are intercalated. The metallic layers (2a-f) and the elastic resilient layers (3a-f) are arranged one above the other in the direction of compression. When the spring element is compressed in the direction of compression, wedge-shaped friction bodies (5) in the spring element are pressed, at right angles to the direction of compression, against a friction surface (6) against which they rub. To obtain a compact, economical structure, the friction bodies (5) lie at least partially between two elastic resilient layers (3d, 3e). These two resilient layers (3d, 3e) and the other elastic resilient layers (3a, b, c, f) lie one above the other on a part of each friction body (5) and the metallic layers (2a-f) in the direction of compression (4). |
