The present invention relates to a superabsorbent resin. According to the present invention, the superabsorbent resin comprises: surface-crosslinked polymer particles prepared by surface-crosslinking a base resin, wherein the base resin is prepared by polymerizing a water soluble ethylene-based unsaturated monomer; and water soluble components. When measured after allowing the superabsorbent resin to freely swell in a 0.9% NaCl solution for one hour, the water soluble components constitute 5 wt% or less of the total weight of the superabsorbent resin, and have permeability of 50 seconds or less. According to the present invention, the superabsorbent resin has improved permeability without degrading water retention ability or absorbency under pressure, and maintains excellent ability to pass liquids when swelling. |
