Provided is a thin electric double-layer capacitor. An electric double-layer capacitor 1 is equipped with a positive electrode 12, a negative electrode 11, and an electrolyte. The positive electrode 12 has a positive electrode-side collector electrode 12a, and a positive electrode-side polarizable electrode 12b. The positive electrode-side polarizable electrode 12b is arranged over the positive electrode-side collector electrode 12a. The negative electrode 11 has a negative electrode-side collector electrode 11a, and a negative electrode-side polarizable electrode 11b. The negative electrode-side polarizable electrode 11b is arranged over the negative electrode-side collector electrode 11a. The negative electrode 11 faces the positive electrode 12. The electrolyte is interposed between the positive electrode 12 and the negative electrode 11. A separator 13 is arranged between the neighboring positive electrode-side polarizable electrode 12b and negative electrode-side polarizable electrode 11b. The separator 13 is plate-shaped. No polarizable electrode is disposed on the outside surface of the collector electrode of the electrode that, of the positive electrode 12 and the negative electrode 11, is the electrode furthest to the outside in the thickness direction. |
