A sub-area-based method and device for protecting information of an MCU chip, the MCU chip comprising a command bus, a data bus, a flash memory controller and a flash memory user area. The method comprises: determining a previous sub-area accessed by the command bus when accessing the flash memory user area (101); entering a previous sub-area operational state corresponding to the previous sub-area (102); determining a current sub-area accessed by the command bus when accessing the flash memory user area (103); if the previous sub-area is not consistent with the current sub-area, entering a transitional state (104); determining whether the amount of time of being in the transitional state reaches a preset waiting time (105); if so determined, entering a sub-area operational state corresponding to the current sub-area (106). The method and device are used to protect programs from being stolen by a client, and also protect against a situation wherein companies collaboratively developing a program are able to steal programs from one another. |
