Spiral-flow firing system, particularly for fuel containing vanadium e.g. for oil-refinery

The system is particularly for use in oil refineries, having a combustion chamber (2) containing a firing-up burner, an exhaust outlet, slag-extraction equipment, a feed nozzle (4) for the fuel/air mixture, and a nozzle (5) delivering combustion air in the tangential direction. The spiral current formed by the mixture, combustion air and slag is kept clear of the mixture- and air-nozzles by deflectors (10,11) in the combustion chamber. The mixture nozzle can deliver in a secantal direction, being inclined at 10 to 20 degree towards the exhaust outlet, and the deflectors can be formed by thickened portions of the chamber lining.
