According to an embodiment of the present invention, a device to control a scan type laser projector includes: a temperature sensing part sensing the temperature of at least one laser diode; at least one light detector detecting the light output of the laser diode; and a control part detecting a regression section, obtaining the light output of the laser diode depending on an on-current, applied to the laser diode in a predetermined section of the regression section, when the temperature of the laser diode is changed, obtaining the light output of the laser diode depending on an off-current, applied to the laser diode, calculating a gradient of output characteristics of the laser diode based on the on-current, the off-current, the light output of the on current, and the light output of the off-current, and adjusting an operating current of the laser diode in a display section based on a difference between the calculated gradient of the output characteristics and a gradient of default output characteristics depending on the temperature of the laser diode pre-stored in a memory. Therefore, the present invention is capable of efficiently and accurately adjusting white balance of the scan type laser projector by correcting a change of the output characteristics of the laser diode depending on a change of a load amount and a change of temperature. |
