PURPOSE:To well form an image on a recording medium by a simple circuit by determining the drive voltage or drive time of a heating element by applying heat energy so as to obtain temp. not destructing the thermoplastic characteristics of a thermoplastic recording medium and driving the heating element by the pulse width modulation utilizing a pulse width modulation circuit. CONSTITUTION:A thermal reversible recording medium is preheated so as to become a transparent state and a heating element 10 is brought into contact with the thermal reversible recording medium brought to a transparent state to apply heat energy to said medium so as to bring the medium to a translucent state. At this time, the drive voltage V1 or drive time of the heating element 10 is determined so that heat energy becomes temp. not destructing the thermoplastic characteristics of the thermal reversible recording medium and the heating element 10 is driven by pulse width modulation utilizing a pulse width modulation circuit 29. As a result, good recording is applied to the recording medium by a simple circuit and the effect of heat on the recording medium is suppressed to extend the life of the recording medium. |
