PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a multilayer varistor, having a difference in electrostatic capacity value securely within a desired range as an electronic component to be used in a circuit whose signal delay time needs to be as equal as possible like a differential transmission circuit, and to provide a selection device therefor. SOLUTION: The selecting device for multilayer varistors comprises a capacity measurement unit which measures electrostatic capacity values of respective varistor elements of a multilayer varistor having the plurality of varistor element, an arithmetic unit which calculates the differences in electrostatic capacity values among respective varistors and compares them with a predetermined capacity value difference, and a selection unit which excludes multilayer varistors, such that electrostatic capacity value differences of respective varistors are larger than the predetermined capacity value difference. The selecting device selects multilayer varistors so that differences in capacity value among two or more varistor elements selected from among the plurality of varistor elements are within the range of predetermined values.
