PURPOSE: A method for demodulating data is provided to configure frame data having normal length relating to each section after dividing frames into N sections, and to select a most appropriate syndrome value from the frame data, so as to have a better error correction capacity. CONSTITUTION: A data demodulating device detects a frame synchronous signal from reproduced data. The device decides whether the frame synchronous signal has a normal frame. The device divides detected frame data into N sections, and demodulates N different frame data by delaying or removing a signal in one section of different sections of the N sections. The device selects one-frame data having a minimal error generating rate among the demodulated N data. When the one-frame data is selected, each syndrome value is calculated from the N different demodulated data. A frame having a minimal error is selected by the syndrome values.
