PURPOSE: An airbag system having a reduced explosion sound is provided to protect a hearing sense of a driver and a passenger by sequentially delaying an explosion timing at a gas generating module and compensating these explosion sounds. CONSTITUTION: The first and second gas generating modules(10,20) composed of an ignition firing material and a gas generating material is stacked in two layers. A filter(106) is installed in order to reduce a high temperature of an expansion gas and filters a dispersed particle owing to a firing and combustion. An airbag(100) is provided at an upper side thereof to reduce an impact of a passenger by expending the airbag. The first gas generating modules(10) is composed of the first ignition firing material(10) and the first gas generating material(11), and the second gas generating module(20) is composed of the second ignition firing material(21) and the second gas generating material(22). The first and second gas generating modules are connected at a control module respectively and start an ignition by a firing signal. The control module receives a signal from a sensor, and sends sequentially the ignition-firing signal by delaying in a constant time.
