PURPOSE:To display document information corresponding to vertical writing and horizontal writing peculiar to Japanese language by providing two display device parts on the left and the right. CONSTITUTION:By an instruction from an operating part 22, document information is accumulated in an information accumulating part 25 through a communication interface part 24 from a host. As for this information, in accordance with a state of a display format switching control part 28, a first page is displayed by using two screens, and as for a display of the next page, it is displayed by receiving a page switching operation, or a first page is displayed on one side screen, and a second page is displayed on the other screen. When one page is displayed by two screens by the display format switching control part 28, it is discriminated by a vertical writing/horizontal writing deciding part 29, an instruction is sent to an automatic left/right screen switching control part 30 and an automatic distribution control part 31, and this information is displayed by display device parts 21a, 21b, based on the left screen as a reference as for a horizontally written document, or based on the right screen as a reference as for a vertically written document, in accordance with a state of the automatic left/right screen switching control part 30 by vertical written/horizontally written documents. |
