PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system improving the security when using an imaging means to monitor a monitoring target apparatus. SOLUTION: The monitoring system is constituted so that the monitoring target apparatus transmits a light emission signal on the basis of unique information unique to the monitoring target apparatus in a prescribed timing, and in a monitoring apparatus 20, an imaging section picks up a video image in a prescribed position and a monitoring server 21 detects the light emission signal from in the imaged video image to monitor the monitoring target apparatus so as to stay in the prescribed position.
