PURPOSE: To provide a method for improving immune response and/or resistance to infection of a patient following the surgery. CONSTITUTION: This method for improving immune response and/or resistance to infection of a patient following the surgery comprises pre-operatively treating the patient with a dietary supplement containing an immunostimulating effective aggregate amount of (a) omega-3 PUFA [ingredient (a)] and (b) L-arginine, L-ornithine and L-arginine or L-ornithine precursor or a mixture thereof [ingredient (b)]. |
