PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computer system and a virus scan method which fully scans a logical volume of a "SUTOSEN" PC with high frequency, while reducing the number of virus scan devices. SOLUTION: The computer system includes a primary volume storing data from a personal computer, a snapshot volume storing the status of the primary volume at an arbitrary point of time, and a save volume storing an updated memory area in the primary volume as information on an updated block address by reflecting data update state in a bitmap corresponding to a memory area in the primary volume. The computer system detects only an updated file in the primary volume from the snapshot volume and the save volume, creates an update volume for storing a relevant updated file, and thereby executes a virus scan for the update volume.
