PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent toner filming from being generated by pressing a seal member to a developing roller with a toner flow. SOLUTION: This developing apparatus of the present invention includes a housing 503 for storing toner 513, the developing roller 507 for carrying the toner and for developing a latent image formed in a photoreceptor, a supply roller 505 abutting to the developing roller to supply the toner, the seal member 551 for sealing a portion with the developing roller advancing into the housing after developed, a seal unit envelope part 560 for attaching the seal member, a seal energizing member 552 attached to a face not contacting with the developing roller of the seal member, and a presser member 553 for the seal energizing member attached to the seal unit envelope part, and a plane including a seal member attaching end face 549 fixed with the seal member of the seal unit envelope part is set not to be crossed with one of contact faces of the supply roller and the developing roller, the other of the contact faces of the supply roller and the developing roller, and an area surrounded by the supply roller and the developing roller.
