PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system and an authentication method that dispense with complicated operation until one receives service offered through the Internet. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 25 executes a command to make a request of a server 10 for a Web page for authentication (s11). Then, the microcomputer receives the Web page for authentication transmitted from the server 10 and makes the Web page to be displayed (s12). Then, the microcomputer performs authentication item input processing (s13), whereat the inputting of data for authentication and a personal identification number by a user is waited for. Then, the microcomputer transmits the inputted data for authentication and personal identification number to the server 10 (s14). The server 10 checks the data for authentication and the personal identification number to determine whether or not the user is a registered valid user, and transmits a Web page for transaction menu (for valid user) or a Web page for error notification (for invalid user). Then, the microcomputer receives the Web page transmitted from the server 10 and makes a display device 21 display the Web page (s15). |
