<p>The apparatus indicates and identifies the type of electric battery in terms of the diameter, thickness and internal resistance for any marketed brand of battery. The apparatus acquires data electrically from a receiver (2-3) which detects outlines, the data being sent to a suitably programmed microprocessor (14). The microprocessor indicates on an electronic screen (4), preferably using a liquid crystal display, the battery reference or references for the brand in question which corresponds to any battery contained in the apparatus.
