摘要 The present invention relates to a method to inject microwave energy into a combustion chamber (6) of a reciprocating internal combustion engine (1) having at least one cylinder (4) by including a cylinder head (2) where microwaves reach the combustion chamber (6) through a microwave window. Microwaves are injected into the combustion chamber (6) in a radial direction through at least one part of a combustion chamber wall (8) provided to an area around the outer circumference of the combustion chamber (6) and acting as a microwave window. In the internal combustion engine (1), the combustion chamber (6) includes the combustion chamber wall (8) acting as a microwave window in at least one part. The combustion chamber wall is surrounded by at least one outer circumference circular hollow conductor hollow hole (9) having at least one supply unit (10) for microwaves and at least one outlet opening hole for microwaves arranged toward the combustion chamber wall (8). The method and the internal combustion engine of the present invention enable: precise and easy control when starting the space ignition of fuel-air mixture in the combustion chamber; and the optimum low emission combustion of fuel while having better efficiency than the reciprocating piston combustion engine of an existing technology. Generally, the present invention is able to provide the safe ignition of rare fuel-air mixture.
