Scale depth and intonation improvement device for German system clarinet

The low note range expansion device uses a tubular housing (3) inserted between the lower section (1) of the clarinet and the flared bell section (2) at the end of the clarinet. This added part is provided with two tone holes (5,6) which are controlled via a thumb operated mechanism. The tubular housing is fitted to both the lower section of the clarinet and the bell via plug-fit connections, or it may be formed integrally with the bell. The inside wall is formed to provide a smooth internal surface at the separation points.
