PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the asymmetry of collisions between the solitons of a wavelength division multiplex transmission system by incorporating an amplifier in a place where the bit time of multiplexed various channels is synchronized and installing a fiber region having a larger diffusion than the line fiber of a transmission system. SOLUTION: Collisions between two solitons take place at an average speed between distances Z1 and Z2. The soliton of a channel λ1 is attracted to the soliton of a channel λ2 from the distance Z1 and is accelerated. When the distance exceeds Z2, the solitons are separated and the interaction between them can be ignored. When the fiber region of length L, in which diffusion is larger than that of the line fiber of a transmission system, is installed after an amplifier, the speed and the acceleration of the solitons are changed after amplification by the influence of the fiber region L. Then, the slide between the solitons of the adjacent channels increases and the separation of the solitons is accelerated. The difference between a distance Z3 where the interaction of the solitons of the channels λ1 and λ2 is stopped and the distance Z2 becomes shorter and the distance where the interaction of the solitons is affected is shortened. |
