<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillatory wave drive unit that improves performance by reducing variations in the size of the oscillatory wave at various locations of the drive section. <P>SOLUTION: In the oscillatory wave drive unit, a difference (Δf) is set in the characteristic frequencies of two oscillating systems in an oscillating body. The mechanical quality factor Q of the oscillating system driven by phase A with the higher characteristic frequency is set lower than the mechanical quality factor Q of the oscillating system driven by phase B with the lower characteristic frequency. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
