<p>PURPOSE:To reconcile the position control of an automatic steering mechanism and the pressure control of a power steering mechanism, in a steering system with an automatic steering mechanism which is made up so as to switch steerage by the automatic steering mechanism over to the artificial one and vice versa. CONSTITUTION:This steering system is provided with a steering wheel system 36, a steering force transmitting system 3 having a steering input part 2 to be displaced according to a rotational displacement of this steering wheel system 36 and steering a steering wheel, and an automatic steering force setting means 13 setting automatic steering force necessary for a car according to running conditions and circumstances of the car, respectively. Likewise it is provided with an automatic steering mechanism 5 automatically steering the steering wheel by way of adding the automatic steering force to the steering input part 2, and it is formed so as to make the steering wheel steerable in displacing the steering input part 2 according to a resultant between the artificial steering force and the automatic steering force inputted into the steering input part 2.</p> |
