<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a punching method and apparatus for a work piece that enable a high-precision punching work with no catch of a pilot pin by a pilot hole when punching a work piece which is a stack of one or more sheets.SOLUTION: In a method for fitting a pilot pin 18 into a previously formed pilot hole 17 to position a work piece 15, and for pressing the work piece 15 to a bottom force 11 with a stripper 16 as a top force 13 falls to make a punch and a die carry out a die-cutting work of the work piece 15, the top force 13 is provided with elevation means 23 for the pilot pin 18, and the pilot pin 18 is forcibly drawn out of the pilot hole 17 with the elevation means 23 while the stripper 16 keeps the work piece 15 pressed to the bottom force 11 after the punch has reached a lower dead point.</p> |
