PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detecting method for polyhydroxyalkanoate(PHA) capable of easily detecting a synthesized PHA when synthesizing the PHA by a bionic technique, for easy judgement of PHA synthesizing in a short time. SOLUTION: The PHA present in a liquid sample is combined with Nile blue A, which is irradiated with excitation beam to provide fluorescence which is observed or detected.
