PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a radio communication device which enables the user to suitably select an incoming notification method according to the use style by using a ringer for incoming notification while the portable telephone set is charged, or performing automatic switching to a previously set ringer or vibrator while the portable telephone set is not charged. SOLUTION: The portable telephone set 1 is equipped with an incoming notification device 10 composed of an incoming detection part 11, the ringer 12 and vibrator 13, a key input part 14 which sets which of the ringer 12 and vibrator 13 gives incoming notice, a memory 17 which stores the kind of the set ringer or vibrator, a charging detection part 16 which detects whether or not a secondary battery 20 is being charged, and a notification switching part 15 which sends the output of the incoming detection part 11 to the ringer when the charging detection part 16 detects the secondary battery being charged and performs switching to the ringer or vibrator stored in the memory 17 when the detection part detects a noncharging state. Incoming calls during the charging state are all indicated by the ringer 12, and incoming calls during the noncharging state are indicated by the previously set ringer 12 or vibrator 13.
