Heretofore, in order to measure the viscosity of synthetic resin during the process of production of synthetic resins in a reactor, a small partial flow of synthetic resin was withdrawn from the reactor in order to remove at certain time intervals separate samples to be analysed in a laboratory. The results of the laboratory analysis decided whether the process had to be continued or not. The taking of samples and the determination of the viscosity in the laboratory were time consuming operations. In order to provide a viscosity measuring method enabling to determine at any time and without wasting time the viscosity of the synthetic resin in the reactor (1) and to establish an unequivocal relationship with the viscosity of the finished product, there is proposed to draw the partial flow in a continuous manner and to cool it to a constant temperature and to continuously supply it to a viscosimeter (15). |
