A motor (8) is used to drive the mechanism for the emergency door. The door is divided into right (1) and left (2) leaves respectively, suspended from an overhead rail (16) on trolley wheels (3-6). The drive motor is connected to a drive chain (7) passing over an idler pulley and connected (17,18) to the two door leaves. There is an emergency opening system which may be used if the drive motor fails. It uses an electromagnet (12) attracting an armature (13). The electromagnet is securely fastened to the structure of the building and the armature is attached to eg. the right-hand door leaf. A spring (10) urges the armature away from the magnet and urges the door leaf toward the open position. |
