PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of commonly using an optical system among different unit types of projectors.SOLUTION: A projector 1 includes an optical unit 4 for forming an image, and a projection optical device 5 for projecting the formed image. The optical unit 4 includes: a first illumination device 41; a first light modulation device 461R for modulating the light emitted from the first illumination device 41; and a dimming device 45R disposed on an optical path between the first illumination device 41 and the first light modulation device 461R, for controlling illuminance of the light by each region, the light emitted from the first illumination device 41. The dimming device 45R includes a reflective second light modulation device 452 for modulating the light emitted from the first illumination device 41, and a reflective relay device 453 for imaging the modulated light modulated by the second light modulation device 452 onto the fist light modulation device 461R.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
